The Government of Tamil Nadu has appointed ELCOT as the optional procurement agency vide Government Order Ms. No 58 Finance (BPE) department dated 16-02-1999 for the procurement of IT hardware and software products for Government departments / corporations / autonomous bodies.
ELCOT deals with all categories of hardware items such as Desktop Computers, Laptops , Servers, Routers/Firewall, UPS Systems and Batteries , DG Sets, Digital copiers, Printers ( Multi Function Devices/ Dot Matrix printers/ Line Printers/ Passbook Printers), Scanners, Plotters, CCTV /Surveillance / Digital Cameras, LAN Components, Biometric Devices, Voice Sim/Data Card, SSL/ DSC certificates, Apple Products, Tablets, Smart Phones, All in One Desktops, Stationery Items, Computer furniture and IT Consumables. It also deals with all types of software products such as Operating Systems, RDBMS, Office software, etc. All the procurement activities are being carried out through open tender process by strictly adhering to the guidelines laid down in the Tamil Nadu Transparency in Tenders Act, 1998 and Rules, 2000 as amended from time to time.
ELCOT gets high-end quality products at best prices through Rate Contract Tenders. ELCOT ensures that the specifications for the IT hardware supplied to the government departments are according to the latest International standards. ELCOT evaluates and ensures that only quality products are delivered to the customers.
